Good Neighbors (GN) strives to improve children's lives, through education, food, shelter, community development, medical care, advocacy in 8 countries of Asia and Africa, and emergency relief projects.

Bangladesh
- EDUCATION
1) Education materials such as textbooks, notebooks, paper and visual materials are provided for 400 students and teachers; students will be encouraged to study and realize the importance of education.
2) Students are given chances to participate in extracurricular activities such as sports competitions, cultural ceremony, picnic, study tour, drama, singing, dance, and, etc.
- MEDICAL SUPPORT
To promote health and well-being of children and their parents, GN provides some medical services.
- FACILITY
GN provides the school building, electrical appliances, sewerage, furniture and other equipment.
- TRAINING for TEACHERS
Teachers are trained in training sessions and seminars to improve their teaching skills.
- VOCATIONAL TRAINING
Vocational training & micro credit program are designed to promote self-reliance among unemployed women in slum areas and create small and medium entrepreneurs.
Computer and other trainings are offered to about 30 college and university students.
- CHILD DAY CARE
Annually, 400 babies (1-5 years old) from slums whose mothers are working during the day are taken care of for their physical, mental, and spiritual growth.
- CARE PROGRAM for PREGNANT MOTHERS
Mothers and their new born babies with malnutrition in slum areas receive some food and medicine from our program.
- FARMING PROGRAM
As part of income generation program, this helps farmers purchase cross-breed calves, nurture them until they are big and fat, and finally sell them at the market to make a profit.

Cambodia
- LUNCH FEEDING PROGRAM
Children of Veang Moung primary school have lunch at school daily prepared by 2 volunteers. By keeping a wholesome diet, the children are expected to grow to meet the height and weight guidelines provided by the Cambodian Department of Health. Sanitization of food reduces outbreaks of food related illnesses among the children.
- NURSERY CONSTRUCTION
The school was constructed to accommodate 50 preschool children of Veang Moung in 2004.
- CHILD EDUCATION
GN provides the school with building, electrical appliances, sewerage, furniture and other equipments.
- TEACHER's CONSULTATION with PARENTS
Every child in the school is registered with their guardians. Parent-teacher meetings are arranged biannually to attend lectures about child education delivered by the teacher. The lectures are evaluated and reinforced through surveys. Parents are counseled to assess the needs and changes brought to their family after their children enrolled in the school.
- WATER PROJECT
Wells are being developed. Each well is available to 7 households on an average.
Although the wells are developed, the water from the wells would not be appropriate for drinking.
Therefore, along with the development of wells, water purifiers are distributed to each family to reduce outbreaks of waterborne diseases.

Indonesia
- WATER PROJECT
GN develop wells for the villagers to have easy and safe access to clean drinking water.
- VOCATIONAL TRAINING
A tsunami devastated the people of Meulaboh, Aceh are supported in their efforts to rise again by being trained in welding, metal plating, computer, and Taekwondo. Good Neighbors assists with the training, equipment, and facility.
- CHILD EDUCATION
We assist tuition fees for the poor children in the area in order to maintain their education.
We provide after-school programs including English classes to the 400 children of four schools. In addition, we provide health & sanitation education to a total of 7,500 students and parents of 30 schools.
- MEDICAL CARE
We distribute medications such as vermicides and anti-malaria tablets to promote the healthy growth and development of the residents
- COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
We are constructing bathrooms and developing groundwater at ten damaged regions and eight schools in Meulaboh to assist in reconstructing the city after the earthquake.

India
- MUDUMALAI COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
We work tirelessly to foster the continual development of the Mudumalai community. Our Income Generation Program works directly with the community at large.
We also conduct basic educational, health, nutrition, and sanitiation programs targeted specifically to 400 children in Mudumalai.
- SARAJAPUR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
In Sarajapur, we have established our Income Generation Program for the community as a whole, as well as programs designed specificially for the children of the community. Children participate in programs designed to address their educational, health, nutrition, and sanitation needs.
We also operate two daycare centers that provide education, nutrition, and health care to 200 children under the age of six.
we have built a water reservoir to meet the needs of 300 people to minimize their exposure to waterborne diseases and afflictions.
- CHICKJALA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
Many immigrant laborers work at the quarries in Chickjala, Bangalore.
Out of a total of 4,500 people living in the community, more than 87% of the adults are illiterate. Most immigrant laborers are stonecutters; a profession which has caused various health problems including arthritis, fever, wounds, and alcoholism.
These poor conditions have had a negative influence on their children so that many of them have not had the education appropriate for their ages.
GN India has committed to the Chickjala community development project since 2010, building and running nursery, providing hygiene education, a literacy program and improved nutrition, in addition to regular health checks and medical services. GN India also runs counseling programs to help dropouts return to school or receive vocational training.

Nepal
- EDUCATION
Through Sangla and Badikhel Elementary School, we are currently providing the children their tuition fees, stationeries, school uniforms etc.
In Kailali region, GN has been promoting an Education Project targeting the Taru tribe, the weakest regional tribe, and the untouchables. Kailali region’s elementary enrollment rate is 55% male and 45% female, a low rate, indicating an urgent support in education. On this, GN has being running a project that provides tuitions fees, stationery, school uniform and extracurricular activities class, targeting children to get qualified education.
- HEALTH CARE
By providing meals, medical camps, health educations, campaigns related to health sanitations, we are helping the children to grow healthily.
- AGRICULTURAL TECHNIQUE EDUCATION
Along with these services, we are also carrying out Agricultural Technique Education in order to contribute in increasing income.
Kailali region’s average earning per month shows to be $30, a very low rate, and the rate of population living under USD1 is 30%, which is relatively high. On this, Good Neighbors has provided 250 people, fish and techniques to breed, and is further helping in selling and profit creating.
Lele Community Development project is running an asparagus farm, it is implementing agriculture cultivating education, technique (on agriculture machines) education, targeting the regional residents and is contributing in elevating income of farm households by co-producing, and selling.

Kenya
- CHILD EDUCATION CENTER
Jirani Education Center offers proper education to the children in need with the same standard curriculum offered by any other school and trained professional teachers. Every year, approximately 100 students benefit from this opportunity free of tuition and free of other expenses.
- DAY CARE CENTER
We established a daycare center at the outskirts of the Mukuru slum. We provide a high-quality meals and health services such as baths and vaccination to twenty infants of poor single parents and unmarried mothers. We also provide basic education.
- LUNCH FEEDING PROGRAM
Jirani students have free nutritious lunch at school daily prepared by a dietitian. By keeping a wholesome diet, the children are expected to grow healthily and be physically fit. Sanitary preparation of food reduces outbreaks of food related illnesses among the children.
- VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTER
Teenagers who do not go to school receive vocational training in computer, hairdressing, tailoring, or woodcraft.
- HEALTH CARE
All the sponsored children receive regular health checks and health education programs with the purpose of preventing drug abuse and HIV/AIDS as well as hygiene education are provided to improve children’s health. Other efforts to enhance the sanitation environment include constructing and rebuilding public restrooms and installing water tanks.

Ethiopia
- EDUCATION
GN has been carrying out some projects in Ethiopia since 1997.
We make regular visits to the homes of sponsored children and provide them with daily necessities and food. We provide lunches, textbooks, school supplies, uniforms, and scholarships to help them continue their studies.
Melcome Day Care Center offers education to children who would have otherwise been neglected due to poverty. We promote the growth of children by offering school meals, uniforms, shoes, and underwear.
The center also promotes education about HIV/AIDS and personal sanitation. We work with families to teach them about income responsibility and to strengthen their role as the primary protectors of children.
- HEALTH CARE
To improve the overall public health of the region, we provide health checkups for children on a regular basis, decreasing the incidence of malaria and diarrhea, and hand out first aid kits to primary schools.
In addition, we educate and raise awareness of health and hygiene.
- VOCATIONAL TRAINING
To encourage the self-sustenance of the residents, the job training center holds classes in tailoring. Also, the micro credit program helps people start up small enterprises.

Chad
- WATER PROJECT
A lack of clean water presents a number of problems such as illnesses spreading and it prevents children from receiving a proper education because they are sent out to collect water from rivers.
Good Neighbors is sponsoring new wells in order to provide clean water, battle illnesses from spreading, and allowing children to attend school.
- SANITATION
The toilets people use are ones made by digging holes into the ground.
As a result, there is often water contamination from the rainy seasons as these holes overflow. It makes for an extremely unsanitary living condition.
GN is sponsoring new toilets in order to battle disease and to improve the sanitation of the area.
- EDUCATION
Located within N’Djamena, Farcha Attere is home to 700 people.
However, since there is no primary school in the area, primary education is completely absent. The adult literacy rate is 5%.
Since 2009, GN Chad has built primary schools and supplied equipment to address the urgent issue of education.
We also plan to eradicate adult illiteracy by providing literacy education and to increase the region’s income by providing classes in farming techniques and water for agricultural use.
- LIBRARY
Outside of school, it is difficult to get supplementary education for the children of Chad.
After-school programs are restricted to students who are enrolled in school.
The library is open to the public so any child can come, read books, and study.
In addition, we are working to improve the quality of education by offering computer classes. Local residents' interest in this project is very high. They have donated a room for this project as well.
